I joined the Georgetown Prep community in December of 2023. Since then I have learned more about Prep, its history, and its current operations, and am encouraged and enthused about this special staff and community.
My impressions of the generosity of our alumni, parents, past parents and friends have continued to grow. It is with tremendous gratitude that my colleagues and I present our 2023-2024 Honor Roll of Donors.
Please know how appreciative we all are for your philanthropy. Your investment in Prep enables us to continue providing an exceptional Jesuit education to young men from around the world.
Gratefully yours,
J. Patrick Gugerty
Vice President of Institutional Advancement

The PREP Fund is our most important philanthropic effort, enabling us to meet the full cost of a Prep education beyond what tuition revenues produce. Gifts to The PREP Fund bridge that gap.
The PREP Fund allows for a more engaging and rigorous curriculum, robust academic and counseling support, stellar faculty recruitment and development, and a significant financial aid program.
We are pleased to recognize the donors who made gifts to The PREP Fund between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024. Donors are recognized by their affiliation to Georgetown Prep.

Georgetown Preparatory School established the Haas Society to recognize the generosity of all participants in the school’s planned giving programs. The Haas Society honors the late Frederick Haas, Class of 1921 as an example of stewardship, generosity, vision, and faith in our mission and our future. Participation in any of Georgetown Prep’s planned giving programs – bequests, life-income arrangements, and other deferred gifts – automatically qualifies you for membership in The Haas Society.
If you have already included Georgetown Prep in a bequest or other planned gift, please let us know. Your willingness to be listed as a member of The Haas Society encourages others to follow your example. We acknowledge and respect those who wish to remain anonymous, however, we urge you to let us know of your plans on a confidential basis.

Georgetown Prep successfully ended the For the Greater Glory Capital Campaign on December 31, 2022. The impact of this capital campaign was The Residence Hall and Campus Center, Prep’s Endowed Funds, The William V. Bidwill ’49 Stadium at the Historic Fegan-Galvin Field as well as many other named opportunities.
Thank you to the following generous donors for their pledge payments made to Prep from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
Over 235 years ago Georgetown Preparatory School was founded to nurture extraordinary young men to excel in academics, athletics, service to others, and spirituality. The aim then was to build a top-tier prep school as the foundation for college and beyond. Our founders and those that followed succeeded. Our challenge continues to ensure that Prep remains a world-class school. A substantial and active Endowment is the bedrock for achieving and sustaining this goal; it is how we advance our principal purpose of forming Men For Others. Income from these vital sources will enhance all aspects of school life.
The following endowed funds were funded by the listed donors during the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Today, Georgetown Prep has a world-class boarding facility, recommitting Prep to fulfilling its mission and distinguishing its unique position in the secondary education market. The Campus Center and Residence Hall is the most significant investment Prep has made in its global Jesuit residential program in over 100 years.
The following donors contributed to The Building Fund, The Steve Maczynski Global Form and The Brick Campaign between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024.
The creation of a new stadium and athletics facilities was a fortunate outcome of the building project. The stadium was named The William V. Bidwill ’49 Stadium at the Historic Fegan-Galvin Field. The Bidwill family made an extraordinarily generous gift in Bill Bidwill’s memory for the creation of the Schools new stadium. The previously dedicated turf field, Fegan-Galvin Field, had to be moved to accommodate the placement of the new building, allowing for the School to properly outfit a stadium facility to serve athletic programing for the next century. Adjacent to the Campus Center & Residence Hall with The Paro Family Plaza overlooking the field, the William V. Bidwill ’49 Stadium and Fegan-Galvin Field enhances the overall athletic experience and builds community among fans and visitors.
The following donors gave to The Stadium Fund, The Paro Family Plaza, The Giblin Lacrosse Wall and the Class of 1983 Stadium Student Section from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.
Georgetown Preparatory School’s largest annual community fundraiser, the Spring Gala, was held in the Hanley Fieldhouse on Saturday, May 4, 2024 with the theme, “Back In Time.”
Through the generosity of sponsors, donors, car raffle purchasers, volunteers, staff and many others, the Gala netted $236,195 that directly supported the young men of Georgetown Prep, plus an additional $290,650 raised for The Catholic School Scholarship Fund via the Raise the Paddle effort during the live auction. The Gala Host Committee (listed below) with their leadership, creativity and tireless efforts on behalf of the Gala made this year’s event a resounding success. Gala proceeds directly support Georgetown Prep’s academic and athletic endeavors, campus ministry, arts programs, financial aid and continued improvements to our incomparable campus.
Thank you to all the generous individuals and businesses who donated items for our Gala auction. Your generosity makes our event successful!
We are particularly grateful for everyone who supported a scholarship for young men from Catholic Schools to attend Prep for the Raise the Paddle portion of the 2024 Gala. The Prep community rose, once again by raising $290,650. For this, we are incredibly grateful.
The 2023 Little Hoya Golf Classic was held at Blue Mash on October 20, 2023. We thank everyone who participated with a special note of thanks to the sponsors of this event. Proceeds for this annual golf tournament benefit the Father Aloysius C. Galvin Memorial Scholarship and the Gus Coupe Memorial Scholarship. Each scholarship fund received a donation from the total net proceeds of $26,656 from the October 2023 event in the amount of $13,328.
